The Missing Ramble

Daily Ramble 26: The Missing Ramble

Somehow I lost track of this post and didn’t see that I had a missing ramble. Oh well, this should have been posted during #BlaugustReborn but here it is now in September. Speaking about #Blaugust, the whole event was a blast. I really enjoyed reading all the posts from so many new and veteran bloggers. It really rekindled my interest in blogging and finding new bloggers to follow. I still haven’t updated my blogroll on the sidebar but I’ve grabbed links to everyone in Feedly so I can keep up with them. And I certainly hope that people keep up with the posting – sure, not every day, but on a regular basis.

Someone Attacking Mercenaries

Rat Queens #2 carries on from the first issue and the story is really getting interesting now. Apparently someone set traps for the various mercenary groups we met in the first issue and a few were wiped out completely. Our Rat Queens were able to overcome the ninja assassin they ran into with the help of a troll. But then he proved to be a pretty formidable foe too. Regardless, they overcame the encounter and headed back to town to confront the mayor, who just had to be the one behind the ambushes.

Warframe

The MMO Book Club is heading into Warframe this month and I’m gonna give this game a shot as well. From my understanding, it’s kinda like a cross between Destiny, Diablo, and Borderlands which certainly sounds like something I’d be interested in. Jumping into the game, I can confirm a strong sense of Destiny but with perhaps more of a melee fighting flair. By that, I mean that it includes the wall running that I remember from Titanfall and seems to encourage using a sword. It could be the particular warframe that I’m using – I chose the Excalibur which is more of a warrior class frame than the other 2 starter frames.

That seems to be one of the unique features of this game – you can swap classes as easily as changing clothes. Ok, you have to earn the frames somehow or purchase them, but it seems you can run one mission in a warrior frame and the next in a mage frame. It seems pretty cool and the fact that you can mix and match the frames for the particular missions you’re assigned seems like it could be interesting.

Lowest Rated So Far

I finished off *Prince of the Blood* by Raymond E. Feist and I have to rate this my least favorite book in the series so far. Sure, the story got better after the first few chapters but I still didn’t really connect with the characters in this one. Hopefully the second and final book in the Krondor’s Son’s series is better than this one was. Ok, it wasn’t bad but it definitely receives my lowest rating of the Feist books I’ve read so far. Next up is The King’s Buccaneer.
