Wednesday Preview Night Schedule at #SDCC2018

Wednesday doesnt usually have many things scheduled at the con and this year isn’t any different. Mostly there are movie and TV previews that will be shown again during the rest of the convention.

8 Days to Comic-Con 2018

For me, I usually take the time on Wednesday to run around in the exhibit hall. My theory, at least, is that since it’s not a full day and exclusive to people who got all 4 days AND Preview Night, I figure there are less people at the convention on Wednesday. I could be wrong but I work things under that impression.

So with that understanding, I usually take Wednesday to hit up places I know I want to see in the exhibit hall – The Tick, Mysterious Galaxy, my buddy in Artist’s Alley. I also try to get the lay of the land in the hall to see if there is anything I really want to come back for – usually things like the video games and such.

This year I’m thinking I might spend some time taking a look at some of the manga or anything Adventure Time (since the last season is coming soon). But as far as schedule, there’s a couple things that pique my interest though I’m not sure I’d pass up my exhibit hall time to see the previews.

At 6:00, Warner Bros. is showing Manifest, their new time travel show where a plane seemingly disappears for 5 years and returns. I haven’t heard much about this show but it kinda sounds interesting.

The other showing I’d be interested in is Deadpool 2 at 10 pm in the Marriot Grand Ballroom 8. Now this one I might attend since I’d already have had time in the exhibit hall and it’s closed by then anyway. The 10 pm showing though would last to midnight so I’m not sure I want to be downtown that late on the first night.

Finally, the other screèning that could I test some is the Scarediego showing at 9:30. This is a bunch of trailers and clips from New Line Cinima’s horror films that are coming out in the next year. This is not my thing but I could see a bunch of peripheral enjoying getting scared on the first day of the Convention. This screening is in the Horton Grand Theatre.

In all, Wednesday doesn’t have much in the way of panels but it kicks off the con. I’m looking forward to the exhibit hall and getting into the swing of things. Perhaps I’ll even win the lottery to get in line for some exclusive merchandise from Funko or Hasbro – but I’m not counting on it.
