Happy Easter!
Daily Ramble 191: Happy Easter!
Tomorrow is the Final Roar of the 2018 March Mammal Madness and I cant wait. Today though, is Easter, and while the Spring holiday never gives me a day off work, I love all it represents…resurrection, renewal, and rebirth.
My Angel team went through a lot of renewal over the offseason and I’m hoping this’ll give them a rebirth in 2018 that’ll see them back in the playoffs. The win yesterday is another step in that direction.
On the comic front, Thanos has been resurrected by Mistress Death and while the Silver Surfer is determined to disrupt his plans, another has been given rebirth to take down the mad titan.
Finally, while the MMO Book Club looks to renew itself in Eve Online and I’m heading there with them, I’mstill looking forward to pushing my paladin to max level in Neverwinter.
You can check it all out after the break…
Another Win
Two batters into the game and the Angels had their first run and they added 7 more after that to end up with an 8–3 victory. Cozart lead off the game with a triple and Trout knocked him in on the way to a 3 for 5 day with 2 doubles, 2 runs, 2 RBIs, and a stolen base. I’d say Mike was my player of the game today though Shoemaker pitched pretty well for 5 innings keeping the Athletics in check. Too bad the 6th proved to be too much for him.
At 2–1, the Angels have ensured they’ll at least end up with a split of the first series of the year and it keeps them in first place with the Astros. Today Ohtani’s takes the mound for the first time.
Silver Surfer #35
The Name Is Thanos! by Jim Starlin and Ron Lim. Published by Marvel Comics, 1990.
In the last issue we saw that Thanos had been brought back from the dead and now he’s on some kind of environmental gig…or maybe he wants to kill off half the universe’s population to restore balance to the force…something like that. He gets started on that destruction by tricking Silver Surfer into inflicting a disease on the primitive people of a lush and beautiful planet. In the end while many of the creatures die, the Surfer is more determined than ever to stop Thanos, but he’s not the only one. With the revival of Thanos, another is reborn to confront him – Drax the Destroyer!
It was an enjoyable read and I was happy to learn something about the Cosmic Marvel universe. While I’ve learned that this may only tangentially be tied to the upcoming movie but regardless, I’m gonna continue since the story has been pretty good.
I rate this issue a B+.
This comic can be found on Marvel Unlimited, Comixology or at your local comic book shop.
Continuing with Neverwinter
The month of March is over and while the MMO Book Club is moving on to Eve Online (and I’ll roll with them), I’m gonna keep moving forward in Neverwinter. While I didn’t make max level in the 2 months I’ve been playing, I’ve enjoyed what I’ve been doing in game and I want to see what things are like at end game. Fortunately the book club set me up with a good guild that’s got plenty of end gamers that are gonna continue to be around even after they leave. Hopefully I’ll be able to reach max level with another month.
