Daily Ramble for March 9 2025
It’s been a long time coming, but I am finally going to see about getting back into the swing of posting regularly again. Yes, my last post was a ‘Hello 2025’ message, but now that it is mid-March, I feel the post has reached a natural end.
Today, I will examine what is currently happening around me and kick off a Daily Ramble that will examine games, TV shows, and March Mammal Madness.

Severance has been my go-to show for the past couple of months. I find it hard to believe the season is almost over. We’ve learned a lot this time around, and I am thrilled to see where things go with the Innies and Outies.

Civilization VII is here, and I am excited to see where the game goes. It seems like forever since Civ 6 was released, and while I purchased this latest incarnation on day 1 – actually, I pre-purchased it – I have not had much opportunity to play. This is definitely on my to-do list.

Exercise Ring Closed…I have been keeping up with my running, and today, I got in 5.4 miles…not too bad. I have been trying to run between 3 and 5 miles a few times weekly to stay in shape. I feel good about it, and it keeps me doing it every week.

March Mammal Madness starts this week. I just took a look at things yesterday and saw that the brackets are going to be exciting. The four divisions are: The Only Ones, Same & Different, Tuxedo Style, and Roots & Relicts. Over the next few days, I’ll look at them all and see who my picks are to win each one. The main event starts tomorrow with the Wild Card match.

The MMM Wild Card match kicks off on Monday, and I’m trying to figure out how many of these I’ve enjoyed. I know I’ve been blogging longer than MMM, but I’ll have to go back and check when I started tracking the craziness. Anyway, the Wild Card match features the Northern Flying Squirrel and the Flying Frog. Ok…We already can see that this year’s event is not simply a battle of warm-blooded, hairy animals. I’ll make my choice for the winner of the Wild Card and post tomorrow – that will give me more motivation to post again tomorrow.

Move Ring Closed…This week, while I closed my move ring (on my Apple Watch), I plan to work on standing up more often. I am pretty sure I have seen studies (which I will look into this week) that indicate that standing up from my sitting job every hour is good. I know that I have not been getting up every hour, but I figure that is something that technology can help me with. I can set a recurring alarm. Let’s see how that goes this week.

My LOTRO plans this year have not gone very well so far, as I have not been able to play much, but I am looking to free up some time to get on board, particularly now that they have put together 64-bit servers. I enjoyed my time last year on the new 64-bit Legacy servers and want to try things out with a larger population and guildies I’ve played with before. Stay tuned as I gear up and get rolling.

Well, there it is—my stab at getting started again here at BTG. I look forward to spending more time posting and rambling. I’ve got some plans that I’d like to roll out, but they’re only in the infant stage right now. First, I gotta make this regular and stick through busy times and writer’s block.
