Rambling about Spoons and Speaking about Games
Today I reminisce about how long it’s been since I was in school, I miss The Tick cartoon and live-action shows, and I finish filling out the top half of the division brackets.

Yesterday I ran across an interesting post by MagiWasTaken over at Indiecator that highlighted how long it’s been since I was in college. His post about Spoon Theory was enlightening, a good read, and it made me want to learn more. Basically, I went to school in the last century and graduated with a degree in Psychology because I wanted to learn about what makes people tick and how I could help them. I’ve since become a software engineer, so I’m not sure I am using all that stuff I learned in school, but I still want to know more about people and help where I can, and MagiWasTaken resparked that interest. This is why I enjoy blogging, reading blogs, and why I feel even gaming blogs matter. - The Tick!
Ok, there’s really no reason for this topic except that when I read the title of MagiWasTaken’s post, I immediately got the image of The Tick in my head shouting SPOON! at SPEAK! and I realized how much I miss The Tick.
Whatever happened to the live-action version, and why don’t they reboot the cartoon? I’d definitely support either of those.
- March Gaming Madness – Picking seeds 7 and 8
Today I finish picking the top half of each division with seeds 7 and 8. This will be the last round of selections that will not have direct opponents already selected, so it’s kinda interesting. Tomorrow I’ll be picking actual matchups as the 9th seed will face today’s 8th seed, and the 10th seed will take on number 7 today. Things are definitely getting exciting. - Current Winter Division
The Winter division of my March Gaming Madness tournament already has 6 competing games in it, but so far, they won’t be matched up against each other. The big names so far in this division are Warcraft and Neverwinter since I’ve played each of these to completion at one point. WoW always moves the bar when a new expansion comes out, and Neverwinter is constantly adding new campaigns, so my characters are far from max level at this point, but at one time, I was running around in endgame gear having fun with my guilds.
Anyway, here are the games in the Winter division so far…Neverwinter, Octopath Traveler, World of Warcraft, No Man’s Sky, Lost Ark, and Fallout 76
It’s a Wrap
I always love it when fellow bloggers make me think and even more when they introduce me to new ideas. MagiWasTaken often has interesting posts, and I really enjoy that not only does Indiecator cover games but also real-life realities. But then again, I also like losing myself in fiction and things like The Tick and gaming tournaments.
In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
