Wakfu First Fresco in Incarnum
As I pointed out Sunday, the frescos in this game are pretty beautiful but not only that, they tell stories.
This first fresco tells the tale of Ogrest the Ogre and his beloved Dathura.
It took me a few looks at the fresco to figure out that I had to mouseover the eyeball things but it’s a pretty cool way of getting the story across to the player.
So the idea is that this Ogrest sought the Dofus to bring a doll he was in love with to life.
The only problem is that once he brought her to life and she fell in love with him, she fell into an abyss.
In his grief, Ogrest cried until the world flooded.
This catastrophe is one of the primary events in the forging of the World of the Twelve and the basis of the game of Wakfu.
The story is compelling and while it certainly seems like Ogrest is kinda a bad guy, everything he does is for love. Kinda like Thanos I guess.
And while I think restoring the world and getting rid of all the water might be part of the goal of the game, I’m really interested in finding out what caused Dathura to fall into the abyss and what that whole deal is about. Obviously Ogrest had the Dofus stones (Infinity stones?) and was able to use them to bring Dathura to life, why couldn’t he pull her out of the abyss with them?
