The Day After and We All Survived

Today in my BTG Seven, I ramble on about the election, LOTRO’s newest expansion, new music, TV shows, and puppies, among other things.

Today is the day for another LOTRO expansion, the Legacy of Morgoth. I’ve never been on the cutting edge of these expansions and don’t even have a character above level 40, but I am excited about this one. I’ve got a character on the Angmar server that I hope to top off at 50 before Moria drops, while at the same time, I am leveling up a warden on Landroval in hopes of eventually getting to level cap.

I am glad that almost 140 million people participated in the U.S. election to support democracy. It was a win for everyone. People disagree, so let’s debate rather than demonize each other.

I just bought Songs of a Lost World by The Cure yesterday and look forward to listening. Robert Smith was a big part of my high school musical accompaniment, and I am glad they have this new album out. I just had to wait until this crazy election night was over before I listened, so I have something to look forward to today.

I’m also looking forward to season 2 of Silo on November 15th. I thought it was coming out on November 5th, but I’m pretty happy I’ll have another fun thing to dive into soon to replace all the wonderful election ads.

The Day After…ok, for some, this idea will harken back to the movie The Day After Tomorrow with Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal, while others will remember way back to the TV miniseries called The Day After with Jason Robards and JoBeth Williams. The first highlights natural disasters while the later looks at nuclear holocaust but I am sure there are plenty of people feeling like either one would be preferable to what they are encountering this morning.

To this, I give you election puppies. Apparently, a number of Marriott hotels in New York, Milwaukee, Austin, and Atlanta held puppy-hugging events to help people deal with the anxiety and stress that this election cycle has induced.

Finally, a coworker of mine voted for the first time since he became a naturalized citizen, and he was happy to be a part of democracy.

With that, Tannhauser Gate is open for the day. I hope you all have a good one!
