Ramble for September 5, 2022

It’s another day of high heat, and this one is supposed to be a holiday. Happy Labor Day, everyone…try to stay cool.

Actually, I am pretty sure it is just us here on the West Coast that are dealing with all the heat. I think the South has a bunch of rain they are suffering through, and Mississippi has trouble with contaminated water. Not a lot of good times around the country right now, but at least it’s a holiday.

Actually, I suppose for many, it is the happy start of the school year or the sad ending of Summer. Either way, it’s a time of transition where people are moving from something they’ve become familiar with for the past few months to something new. Change has a tendency to cause anxiety, and it sure seems like there’s a lot of craziness going on these days.

For me, the fact that I haven’t been able to relieve any stress by playing games has added to the chaos. Usually, when things get uncertain, I bury myself in a game or two, using the time spent in a virtual world to decompress and recharge my batteries so I can deal with the next stressful thing. With the heat, I haven’t even been able to do that.

I suppose an alternative would be to dive into a good book…I think that’s what I’ll do while this heat keeps me away from gaming – I can finish off The Hobbit and pick out a few more good stories to read. The heat is not supposed to last more than another week or so, but I should be able to get a few books read by then… I’ll keep you updated.

Anyway, that’s all I have for today. I’m hoping to ramble some more soon, and In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
