It’s Championship Time 2022
The NCAA Basketball Championship was decided last night, the 2022 March Mammal Madness Final Roar produced the two combatants facing off in the Championship game, and my Angels won the second game of the Freeway series. On top of that, I highlit the Marvel Unlimited new releases for the week and look forward to the DC Universe Infinite releases later today.
It’s a busy Tuesday so let’s ramble about what’s going on.
The Rundown

The Goods
NCAA Championship
It was a crazy game between the Kansas Jayhawks and the North Carolina Tar Heels last night, but the Jayhawks were able to overcome a 16 point deficit to win 72-69. It was the largest comeback in the tournament’s final game in 82 matches, and it was certainly exciting.
My tournament picks were long gone, with both Gonzaga and Arizona losing earlier in the tournament, but I was still excited to see such a good game. Why can’t all championship games be this good, with highs and lows for both teams?
Congratulations to the Kansas Jayhawks!
Final Roar Results
Two competitors remain after 63 matches and are headed to the championship of the 2022 March Mammal Madness. The Orca outlasted the Swordfish, and the Pride of Lionesses held their own against the Grizzly Bear and emerged victorious.
So we’re now set for the finals…two number one seeds face off against each other, and while I expected the Orca to make it to the championship battle, I thought the Lions would have fallen out of contention earlier in both my original and my Sweet 16 reset. I really had faith in the Grizzly Bear to make it to the finals, but it’s not to be.
I think the final contest of the 2022 March Mammal Madness tournament will be one for the ages as we have 2 very strong competitors facing off. I think the Orca has the edge, but then things could turn on where the battle takes place and, of course…if there is fan interference.
We’ll find out soon, though, as the battle takes place Wednesday evening.
Game 2 of the Freeway Series
We’re getting close to Opening Day for MLB, and I am certainly excited! Today’s contest between the LA and LA saw the Angels score in double digits even with only one home run, but they were able to defeat the Dodgers and take the Freeway series. There’s still one more game in the series and one more game until the start of the season, but we’re getting close to the real thing.
I’m hopeful that my Angels will perform well this season and am looking forward to 162 glorious regular-season games followed by a bunch of post-season action.
Marvel Unlimited’s Top Weekly Release
While there were a bunch of Moon Knight issues dropped on Marvel Unlimited yesterday, the top-rated issue released back on December 29th was the Timeless #1 one-shot. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but it seems to be focused on Kang the Conqueror and is supposed to be a look into what the future holds for Marvel in 2022.
Looking Forward to DC Universe Infinite’s Weekly Releases
As I look over the new releases on DC Universe Infinite this morning, I have to say that I am intrigued by Superman ’78. With a cover that harkens back to the original Superman movie from 1978, I am dying to see what adventures the creators have in store for the Christopher Reeve Superman and his Lex Luthor foe.
It’s a Wrap
A championship won, a final battle prepared, a Freeway series continues, and Unlimited and Infinite comics…what a day it’s been already. In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
