Picks for Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Winter Division
The Rambling Redshirt’s Gaming Madness Winter Division looks to be a pretty competitive one. With MMO stars like World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2, and the game that the bracket is named after, Neverwinter, which I’ve played to max level with a Paladin in the past, it seems like this Division might produce an MMO as their Final Four entrant. Of course, that doesn’t mean there are no standout single-player games. We’ve got Nioh which I have repeatedly tried to make progress in, there’s a new shiny called Lost Ark that seems like it might be a fun experience, and then there’s another Dark Souls game.
I could see the eventual winner of the tournament coming from the Winter Division easily.
Here’s what my initial picks are for this Division…
Now, my picks are just that, how I see things playing out. The real results will employ some randomness and ratings, some user scores, and some more randomness…along with some coin-flipping. While I pick the game I think will win or maybe the one I prefer will win, it remains for the RNG gods to determine who will actually escape each battle victorious.
In any case, I’m picking FFXIV to win the Division and reach the Final Four.
I think Final Fantasy XIV has shown that it is a great game. While it stumbled on its initial rollout, the team over at Square Enix revamped things and got it firing on all cylinders. And, with a new expansion that just came out, I see this game as dominating the competition.
Of course, that doesn’t mean there isn’t solid competition. We’ve got so many top games in this Division, it’s crazy. FFXIV, WoW, Half-Life 2, Octopath Traveler, Deathloop…I could see any of 5 or 6 different winners of this bracket.
Anyway, we’ve got new games and old games, MMOs and RPGs, Soul-like and Diablo-like, but I pick FFXIV to reign supreme and move forward into the Final Four from this bracket.
