Monday Already?
It’s Monday already, and I can hardly believe it. This weekend went so fast! But I did a little reading, made some selections for my March Gaming Madness Tournament, and read a few comics for my book club.

The Goods
Seeds 9 thru 12
This weekend I continued my March Gaming Madness tournament selection and picked seeds 9 and 10 on Saturday, followed by 11 and 12 on Sunday. 16 more games added to the tournament to bring the total to 48 with 16 left to pick. The highlights of the seed selection over the weekend are many…
Final Fantasy XIV made the tournament in as the 12th seed in the Shadows division and, along with fellow 12th seed – Horizon Zero Dawn – make this a strong seed from Sunday. Saturday saw Guild Wars 2 as a 10 seed and The Witcher 3 as a 9 seed which really makes them games to watch in the long run.
I’ll be making picks for the 13th and 14th seeds today and the final selections tomorrow. Once I know all the competitors, I’ll take a look to see how I think things will turn out so I can see if I can predict things as poorly as I do with the NCAA tournament.
Six Degrees of the Blogosphere – The Ancient Gaming Noob
While wandering the blogosphere, I came across an excellent post from Wilhelm Arcturus over at The Ancient Gaming Noob. From my experiences in Eve Online, I would tend to agree with him on his five ideas that are bad for the game, particularly his number one idea. While I only maintain a limited presence in the game right now, one thing that drove me insane was the ‘Walking in Stations’ that they crammed down players’ throats back in the day. I find it hard to believe that anyone who lived through that experience, worked on the crapload of code that had to be involved, or has actually played the game would even consider that ‘walking in stations’ would add ANY benefit to Eve Online. As with so many things in Eve, I’m pretty sure this is just trolling to get hits, comments, or just to piss people off.
A Closer Look at the Shadows Division
The current state of the Shadows Division of the March Gaming Madness presents as follows:
1) Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
2) Final Fantasy I
3) Torchlight
4) Elden Ring
5) Civilization VI
6) Wasteland 3
7) Europa Universalis IV
8) Legends of Aria
9) Diablo 3
10) Deathloop
11) Control
12) FFXIV
Not a bad set of competitors as we have two of the recent hotness games – FFXIV and Elden Ring in this division. Couple those two with a classic like Final Fantasy I and the king of 4X games – Civilization VI, and you have a pretty difficult division.
Marvel New Releases headed our way today
As usual, on a Monday, Marvel has opened their value for another round of releases to their Marvel Unlimited platform, and I am looking at the New Mutants as one to watch this week.
It’s a Wrap
Marvel, tournaments, divisions, and Eve…even though it’s a Monday, it’s off to a good start.
In any case, I’m looking forward to making the rest of today a good one, and I hope you all have a great day.
