Starting my Tournament Bracket
With my decision yesterday to use a tournament to determine my next go-to game, I figured that I’d get moving on building the tournament right away. So I’ve got 64 games to identify. That seems like a pretty large task right off the bat, but let’s see how far I get today…
I’ll start with the games that I’ve played to some semblance of endgame…
I’ve probably spent the most time in World of Warcraft and have actually reached endgame a couple of times in the game, so obviously, this pops up as a possibility as a game I can play to completion.
I’ve also basically reached the endgame in terms of NULL Sec fleet warfare in Eve Online. While there is not really an endgame, and I haven’t even trained up to fly Supercapital ships, I consider battles with 1000s of allies and 1000s of enemies a pretty good example of the Eve endgame.
I’ve also basically reached the endgame in Wurm Online as far as I’m concerned. Since I’ve built up a deed that was self-sufficient and was able to craft boats, architect buildings, bred animals, and pretty much was able to do anything I set my mind to in the game, I consider that pretty much the endgame.
I’ve played several Civilization VI games to completion and actually won a few.
Two other games where I reached an endgame were Destiny 2 and Neverwinter Online. These both seem to have constantly shifting goalposts as far as endgame goes, but I made it to max level in Neverwinter and to the final campaign battle in Destiny 2 at one point.
So I guess as things go, I have completed or reached the ‘endgame’ of 6 games that I am going to include in my tournament.
I am confident the next group will have many multiples of 6 when I consider games that I’ve tried out but have never reached the endgame.
I’ll take a look at them tomorrow and see how far into the 64 slots I can get with games I’ve played before.
