Top Release of the Week

12 issues were released this week from July 2021 and another 4 for good measure (LAST WEEK had 16) and looking at Comic Book Roundup, here are the top issues:

  • Justice League Infinity #2
by J.M. DeMatteis and Ethen Beavers.
    Published by DC Comics, 2021.
Across the globe people begin disappearing, replaced with different but similar individuals. So where is Superman and who is this new monstrous Overman?! In order to get to the bottom of what’s happening, the Justice League will need to first take down the new villain! And what horrors are revealed in the twisted mirror room?!
  • Swamp Thing #6
by Ram V and Mike Perkins.
    Published by DC Comics, 2021.
With Prescot’s bio-agent set off in the Kaziranga wetlands, the Green summons Levi back to the land of his making. With Levi unable to access his powers as Swamp Thing, he finds himself trapped in the dense forest and stalked by a group tasked with retrieving his alter ego at all costs. Will he recover his powers before he is hunted down by the Suicide Squad?
  • The Nice House on the Lake #3
by James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez.
    Published by DC Comics, 2021.
Walter’s “rules” for their getaway strongly suggested the residents not leave the property lines of the House…but how far do they go? It’s not like Sam, the Reporter, to leave a question like that unanswered…but what he finds when he walks the perimeter of the lake might turn out to be the story of his lifetime-however much longer it lasts!
  • American Vampire: 1976 #10
by Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque.
    Published by Vertigo, 2021.
The sequel to the Eisner Award-winning American Vampire reaches its definitive conclusion! July 4, 1976. Exactly 51 years ago to the day, Skinner Sweet pulled Pearl Jones from certain death and committed her to eternal life as an American Vampire. Now, on America’s bicentennial-after a half-century of fighting for and against one another-the two foils are united in a common cause, locked in an earthshaking showdown against the Beast for the fate of humankind. Parting words and lasting actions untangle the tense history between the surviving members of the VMS-and Skinner Sweet will either reclaim his coveted immortality or sacrifice his life in the final battle to secure a better future for his companions!
  • The Dreaming: Waking Hours #12
by G. Willow Wilson and Nick Robles.
    Published by Vertigo, 2021.
The future of the realm of Faerie lands in Heather After’s hands-and Heather’s not exactly known for her sound judgment. But if she doesn’t use her power wisely, she could call down the wrath of the Dream Lord himself-and send her closest confidant, the escaped nightmare Ruin, back into eternal imprisonment…or far, far worse! Will Ruin be unmade before ever knowing the true love he condemned himself to mortality for? Perhaps he just gets what everybody gets-a lifetime. But it’s looking awfully short…
