I think with the loss, Alabama will finally give way to Georgia at number one, and the Bulldogs will get out from under the shadow of the Crimson Tide. The Goods
NCAA Upsets
It sucks to be a top 20 team that hasn’t lost a game this year in College Football. In particular, number 1 ranked Crimson Tide lost to Texas A&M this weekend 41-38, and it was the first loss for Alabama in 19 games or almost 2 years. And A&M was not even ranked in the top 25! Ole Miss (17) beat out Arkansas (13), and Boise State pulled out the win against number 10 BYU. And in the game I was able to watch, Iowa (3) held on to beat Penn State (4) in a match that was close till the PSU quarterback was injured.
I don’t know who’s gonna win the college football championship this season but it sure is exciting to see these big name teams falling like flies.
Leveling Up in Secret World Legends
Chicken Noodle made it up to level 8 in SWL and started picking out skills and abilites to use with her blood magic and assault rifle and I made my first mistake. I took Incendiary Grenades because it sounded cool as an ability to blow bad guys up better with my assault rifle. The only problem was I needed a way to shoot those grenades and as far as I can tell, I did not pick up any of those abilities. So now I cook grenades but they blow up in my face because I can;t throw them.
Time to fix this or pick a different weapon.
Paul enters Adulthood
Chapter 22 features a lot of internal dialog and growing up for Paul..He accepts his mentat and Bene Gesserit abilities but believes he is something other than either of them. In addition to his dual nature in training, he also realizes that he has a dual nature in breeding as he is the joining of the Harkonnen and Atreides bloodlines. In truth, there is so much information in this chapter it could easily fill a dozen articles.
NL Playoffs ties 1-1 and 1-1
We’re all tied up in the National League and this post season is turning out to be more interesting than expected. I’m thinking the Dodgers have the upper hand right now since they beat up on the Cardinals who were the hottest team in the majors during the past month. The injury to Kershaw hurts them though so as I said, things are interesting. On the other side of the NL coin, I think Milwaukee is the better team but Atlanta is showing some good signs that they are in this for the long haul. Either way, I’m looking forward to some more good baseball in October. Too bad my team isn’t here.
Neo for the Win!
The Matrix is definitely a must see film in my opinion and I constantly find myself connecting coincidences, questioning our robot overlords, and seeing deja vu and thinking we are all actually living in the Matrix. So I decided to take the time to revisit the first – and best – of the films. Considering there is a forth movie coming out later this year, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to seeing where they go with the next movie.
Popular Brutality
So I finally took the plunge into the Squid Game on Netflix and I’m not so sure what all the hype is about. A bunch of people who have made poor decisions in life make another poor decision and enter into a situation where they either succeed or die. I mean, the red light/ green light thing was interesting but I am not finding the allure so far. I mean it’s pretty much Running Man meets Hunger Games meets Mr. Rogers. Is this game being broadcast somewhere? Who is funding it? What is the whole point? I mean, I figure if you die in this game won’t the people you owe money to be looking for your family to collect what is owed them? I’m just not getting it so far.
Trese Issue 3
Fire elementals and water demons abound in the third issue of Trese. This comic by Budjette Tan and Kano Baldisimo is like X-files meets Supernatural and took steroids. It’s a total blast!
It’s a Wrap
As usual, I love the sports world in October…MLB playoffs, NCAA football, the start of NHL Hockey and NBA Basketball, so much to attend to, I love it! I particularly enjoy things when underdogs win…of course only when I’m not rooting for the team that loses, but this week was particularly fun. Good comics, continuing good books, starting new tv shows, and advancing in MMOs…today was a good day and I hope you all had an interesting and enjoyable day as well.
