Defeating Traps and Leveling

Today I kept marching in Final Fantasy and made it to the next Main Story Quest. Combat wasn’t too difficult before, but now that I have a pet, it’s even easier. At this point with the deadly difficulty setting in LOTRO, I’d call combat in FFXIV pretty simple.

Combat of another nature confronted Paul on Arrakis. He had to deal with one of the traps laid out for the Atreides but did a pretty good job dealing with it.

A Trap is Sprung

Finally we are getting some action other than moving from one planet to the next and talking about guilds and politics. In chatper 9, we see Paul trigger one of the Harkonnen traps.

With all the preparations, scanning, and detecting that the Atreides did, there was still at least one trap that evaded discovery and fortunately for Paul, he was trained to deal with it. Even with his education though, the hunter-seeker almost killed the housekeeper.

And with his protection of the Shadout Mapes, Paul gained a water debt that was repaid with information about a traitor in the midst of the Duke’s entourage.

Do the Fremen know something about Dr. Yueh?

This is a short but impactful chapter that I rate a Must Read.

Level Up Twice

Now that I picked up my Carbulcle pet in the last game session things are moving a bit faster. I actually jumped from level 4 to 6 as I started cranking through Hunting Log achievements and turned in 6 quests.

I also stepped on the gas because I was blocked in my pursuit of the Main Story. Apparently some of the Main Story Quests (MSQ) are level locked and I had to push my leveling so I could get back into the Main Story. I suppose that’s a good thing when I could have simply spent tons of time leveling a bunch of alternate classes or running around with a bunch of low level quests, but I was determined.

I was gonna get to my next MSQ and I did…mission accomplished.
