2021 MMM Round 3: The Sweet 16

And then there were 16…This 2021 tournament has really has some surprises, many of which resulted in my pick getting knocked out of the bracket. I’m really getting worked this year but some of the ways I’m losing are making things interesting.

Advancing to the Elite Trait are: the Midgardia Seastar, the Dugong, the Red Kangaroo, the Red Hartebeest, the Saber-Toothed Anchovy, the Mountain Tapir, the Sphinx Monkey, and the Harpy Eagle.

The bracketologists sure knew what they were doing this year as all 4 of the top seeds made the Sweet 16 and then through on to the Elite Trait. The number 2 seeds were not as lucky with only 3 out of the 4 surviving into round 3 and only 2 moving on.

I’m pretty surprised to see the Mountain Tapir defeat the Red Wolf but I did not count on the Tapir having a defense specifically used against dogs. Oh well… Fortunately, my pick to win it all is still in the fight as well as one of my top 4 so I am happy for them. Perhaps I can still get some satisfaction form having picked the winner for a change.
