2021 MMM Round 1: Red, In Fur Results

The 2021 March Mammal Madness got into full swing yesterday with the Red, In Fur division conducting 8 matches to determine who moves on to the round of 32. Eight dreams continue and surprisingly, there was not a single upset. The bracketologists sure got things right in this one!

Advancing on to the second round are: the Red Kangaroo, the Red Hartebeest, the Maroon Langur, the Red Brocket, the Red Fox, the Red-Crested Tree Rat, the Red Ruffed Lemur and the Bay Cat.

I had a pretty good round with only one of my picks failing to move on. I picked the Red & White Giant Flying Squirrel to pull out an upset over the Red-Crested Tree Rat but it was not to be. Apparently the Rat knows some boxing moves that scared off the Squirrel and even though the guy can fly, it was not enough to pull off a win when he flew out of the arena.

With 9 matches in the books, I’m doing much better percentage-wise. I moved from a 0% win rate to a 77% win rate. Hopefully things will continue to improve.
