A Fantastical Battle

The Scumbag #1 is definitely an exciting start to what promises to be an entertaining journey accompanying Ernie Ray Clementine as he does some interesting things. In this first issue, we meet Ernie and learn that he’s not much of a person worth meeting….drug addict, derelict, drunkard, lowlife…probably not the person you would want responsible for watering your plants, much less saving the world.

But it seems destiny has plans in store for Mr. Clementine since he witnesses this epic battle between a Leprechaun and a Medusa.

Ok, the fantastical beasts were just figments of his withdrawal-addled hallucinating brain, but he did ‘witness’ a fight between two people representing opposing forces. One who seemed to want to destroy things and another trying to protect those things. Neither one survived the fight, but Ernie apparently was the beneficiary of that conflict since he found some more drugs. This drug seems to be the foundation for Ernie’s future adventures, and they look like they could be interesting.
