What If…The Chancellor Did Not Interfere

We all know the story of Anakin and Padme and how Chancellor Palpatine wrapped his web of Sith darkness around them to create the Star Wars universe we know and love.

As I was reading Star Wars: Age of Republic: Padme Amidala #1, I started wondering about the idea of how things could have turned out if Palpatine never messed with them.

I mean, both Padme and Anakin were pretty strong personalities and were greatly in love with each other…would they have found each other even if Palpatine had not messed with the Trade Federation? I’m sure Anakin would have made his way to being a Jedi somehow and Padme would have been involved in politics on Coruscant so would they have met each other?

I kinda think they were destined to meet and fall in love but then without Palpatine, perhaps their story would have had a happier ending.
