Running to Sweetwater Marsh

Ok, it’s been months since I wanted to put together some comments on my running and my plan to ‘Run California’.

Today I’m gonna get things kicking with what I am calling Running Around the Gate. I don’t have a banner yet but I have an idea. Short and sweet, I’m gonna keep fit and keep posting about the places I’d likely see as I run – note, I’m not actually running these routes except virtually.

First up…after the Salt Works and the San Diego Country Club…is the Sweetwater Marsh. Apparently this place has been around for a while and in 1978 was the location for the filming of Attack of the Killer Tomatoes.

Running another 3.5 miles takes me to the Marsh and the Living Coast Discovery Center but of course with COVID, this place has been pretty deserted for almost a year.

With all the cool wildlife, I think this’ll be a cool place to check out once this pandemic is over.
