Grinding to the Apex

With Christmas coming on soon I’m hoping to get some time with my family and a break from work to do a bit of gaming. I’m currently the roadblock to pushing forward the Civ VI succession game so I’m looking forward to running through my 10 turns as the leader…and I think this may be my last go-round since we’re pretty far along with the game.

More to the point, today I jot down some thoughts about my current grind in Wurm Online and move a bit forward in The Rook.

Hope you’re headed to a good Christmas and certainly I’m glad we’re all gonna be able to move beyond 2020.

Running in Circles

I’ve kinda found myself running around in circles in Wurm Online these days. I don’t seem to have had too much focus… there are just so many options for things to do. I’ve got characters I want to turn into priests, I have grand architecture plans for my deed, and I want to build a ship tunnel from one side of the ‘island’ to the other.

But that leaves me with too much to do and I can’t seem to focus.

My main goal is to make my priests. I’ve got Mag, a Fo, and a Vynora followers that I’m planning on priesting so I can get a feel for all three of the religions but I’ve kinda been floundering in getting them ready. There are a bunch of guides that suggest I need to level up my characters to 21 this, or 23 that and the grind is just killing me. usually, I tend to ‘grind’ by just making the stuff I need. When I’m grinding without any concrete result it drives me nuts.

I think I’m gonna hold off on the grind for at least one of my priests and go ahead and get him ordained. At least that way I can see if all these guides telling me I need 21 this or 23 that are relevant for the way I’m planning on playing MY priests.

In any case, I’m gonna make a sailboat so I can sail over to be ordained in relative style. At least in the best boat, I can make right now.

The Lady at The Apex

Chapters 10 and 11 of The Rook deal with the aftermath of the interrogation seen in previous chapters and the revelation that the long time arch-enemies of the Checquy are preparing for an invasion.

In these pages, we get a more in-depth look at Lady Linda Farrier who is one of the highest-ranking members of the court and then we get to meet her the rest of the court in the 11th chapter. Needless to say, they are not pleased with the fact that an enemy organization is planning on attacking England.

It’s a Wrap

I’m hoping to get one of my priests set up this weekend so I can start to get the feel of things and since I’m enjoying my re-read of The Rook I’m gonna keep going and consider starting to look at my favorite parts of the story.
