MLB Favorites and a Game coming to Comics
Once again we’re getting to see the favoritism of the MLB commissioner and it really sucks. Good thing there was a cool ComicCon@Home panel to watch to take my mind off the pathetic cheaters.
Is the MLB Commissioner Up the Astros’ Butt?
So we have our first situation of the season and once again the Astros come out like the Commissioner’s darlings. As of this post, Joe Kelly is scheduled to receive more punishment that ANY cheating Astro for their trash can season that resulted in MLB giving them a World Series trophy.
No one was hit by a baseball but the Houston Astros stormed off their bench to confront the Dodger pitcher as he walked back to the visiting team’s dugout.
How can that result in ZERO punishment for the cheating Astros when they obviously were looking to cause trouble. There was no evidence that Kelly threw at either of the Astros players – he was having control trouble and one of the pitches even resulted in a walk which if you’re gonna throw at someone you either hit them – which he certainly could have done – or you do it on a pitch that doesn’t matter for anything.
But once again the cheating Astros get away with no penalty. At least they lost the game but something needs to be done with this disgrace. MLB let this cheating team off without punishment and when teams and players even look like they might be taking the situation into their own hand, they are stepped on and suspended without thought.
I think the MLB Commissioner needs to take a long look at his favoritism and get out of the Astros’ butt.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Thoughts on Horizon Zero Dawn Comic To Comicbooks
Honestly I think there is a great synergy that can be created between comics and the video game industry. In a similar manner that comics and animation are closely related, video games also tend to use similar tools and that makes them perfect companions.
And Horizon Zero Dawn is a great game to be bringing to comicbooks. It’s got a really cool protagonist, interesting history and a compelling story – one that I’m looking forward to getting back into in August as it comes out on the PC.
I’d love to see some of the backstory to the game and learn more about the monsters , tribes, and characters. There’s tons of possible side-stories that could be explored in comics, and with comics you can get new content on a monthly basis.
I’m definitely looking forward to giving this a try when it comes out.
It’s a Wrap
I was actually gonna comment on my MLB Mirror experiment today but ran outta time. I didn’t expect to see the baseball commissioner make another such lopsided, misguided, and stupid ruling for the cheating Astros so soon. I figured he’s at least try to hide his adoration for that team and their cheating ways until we got the season moving a bit. It’s not like he’s got a great relationship with either the owners or players right now.
And what does that say for the business of Major League Baseball? Do anything you want if you’re from Houston? As long as you win the championship and don’t get caught until after the fact, you’re good? If you look cross eyed at someone the commissioner favors you‘lobe punished more than they will for corrupting the game for more than an entire season? It’s really sad and I start to question my loyalty to the sport.
I mean I stopped watching the NFL when they condoned players disrespecting the flag and all the veterans that have given their lives for this country. I haven’t watched a Super Bowl for years now because of that stunt and I don’t plan on watching it again. At least the NFL punished their cheaters. At least the NFL penalized their favorite team and their chosen one – Tom Brady. The NFL commissioner may be an idiot but at least he knows that cheating is bad for the sport.
MLB on the other hand – can’t even understand that cheating ruins the game. Not only that – cheating ruins the game more than anything Pete Rose ever did. At one point the league understood that cheating was extremely bad for the sport – they destroyed the Black Sox and anyone even closely related to those cheating players – even if they weren’t cheating themselves. Now? I guess with Houston as the darling of the commissioner, they can do whatever they want.
Perhaps when people start abandoning the sport because it condones cheating the league will start listening. In any case, I’m done ranting about this for now…I’m sure it will come up again.
On a positive side of things, I am excited to see not only a Horizon Zero Dawn comic book but a port to the PC. And I’m looking forward to the PS5 and Horizon Forbidden West.
