A Few Thors Get Me Into EverQuest
Well, at least they get me into EverQuest for a short time. It took most of my available time today to get into the game and another chuck to make sure I was able to play properly but I finally made some progress in EverQuest.
I really want to get a few levels in this game but it’s been pretty tough so far. In any case, while I waited, I read through some comics, the most significant was Thor: God of Thunder #9.
Slowly Leveling
It was a seemingly Herculean effort but I managed to get back into EverQuest today. Of course I had to wait so long I barely had 30 minutes to play but I was able to jump in for a bit at least.
And the other negative expectation that occurred was that my UI was messed up since it had been over a week since I had last been in game and I think there was some kind of update applied. Oh well, I went about figuring out my UI settings and this time – I WROTE THEM DOWN.
I really need to remember to write things down when they have a tendency to be forgotten. Things like UI settings, fonts, and such are kinda important. Particularly when I don’t get into a game often or for vey long.
So, after I fought with the screen settings and UI, I headed back down to Greater Faydark to kill some more skeletons, bats, wasps, and wolves. The most dangerous creature I faced was a forest drakeling which conned yellow to me and I did not intend to fight it, but I was able to beat him none the less.
Regardless of getting the opportunity to fight some more creatures I ended up having to call off my ‘leveling’ with 20% left until I reached level 5. I know I’ll get there but this game sure takes it’s time.
I guess when I only get 30 minutes at a time EQ leveling is gonna be slow.
Three Thors
Thor: God of Thunder #9 by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic continues the battle between the three Thors and Gorr. The hammers fly and we get our first info about about Gorr’s weapon. Not the godbomb he plans to use to kill all the deities in the universe, but the black blade that acts as an extension of his will and the one that creates his black hounds.
It’s another great issue that highlights how powerful Gorr is and how it takes three gods of thunder to even attempt to bring him down. I particularly enjoyed the interplay among the Thors and I’m looking forward to seeing where this whole storyline goes.
It’s a Wrap
So there was not much to report today as I had limited game time and spent most of it waiting to get into EverQuest. One of these days I’ll get some serious time and gain a level or so and I’ll feel a real sense of accomplishment.
Even before that happens I’m able to feel like I’m making progress in reading through Marvel comics. I’m trying to build a background for exploring the War of the Realms that just happened earlier this year and while I know theres a lot of material to read to catch up, I’m enjoying the journey.

While I haven’t read the marvel comics in a long while, I’m shocked about needing three gods of thunder to take down a villain! Glad you’re enjoying the journey!
