DC Universe New Weekly Releases January 28, 2020
DC Comics started to release new comics to their DC Universe platform about a year after they enter circulation as floppies. With that in mind, I decided to list off those released each week as I do for Marvel Unlimited. The DC releases come out on Monday just like the Marvel comics but since they are pushed to their site in the evening I figured I’d publish their list on Tuesday…
Regardless, here’s what I think will be available for this week that was released January 23th, 2019:

10 new comics released today compared to 13 last week. Looking at Comic Book Roundup which aggregates a bunch of review sites, here are the top issues from this batch of comics.
- Freedom Fighters #2
by Robert Venditti and Eddy Barrows.
Published by DC Comics, 2019.
The Freedom Fighters go public in present-day Nazi America! It’s been 50 years of fascist rule in the U.S. under Hitler and his heirs, and frankly, everyone’s had enough. A new Freedom Fighters team makes a very public debut in hopes of rallying the people and re-igniting the long-dormant American spirit. Phantom Lady, Black Condor, Doll Girl and Human Bomb strike a blow against the Gestapo’s Iron Police Force, but will it be enough to summon the long-lost Uncle Sam from retirement? - Naomi #1
by Brian Michael Bendis, David F. Walker, and Jamal Campbell
Published by DC Comics, 2019.
DC’s biggest, newest mystery starts here! When a fight between Superman and Mongul crashes into a small Northwestern town, Naomi (last name?) begins a quest to uncover the last time a super-powered person visited her home-and how that might tie into her own origins and adoption. Follow Naomi’s journey on a quest that will take her to the heart of the DC Universe and unfold a universe of ideas and stories that have never been seen before. Join writers Brian Michael Bendis, David Walker and breakout artist Jamal Campbell in Wonder Comics’ massively ambitious new series and star… NAOMI.
Number Ones

- The Curse of Brimstone Annual #1
by Denys Cowan, Don Hudson, Justin Jordan, and Mike Perkins.
Published by DC Comics, 2019.
In this thrilling new annual, Brimstone and Annie are called to help prevent a cult from bringing their god to life via a sacrificial ritual…by none other than John Constantine! Then, explore the origins of Wandering Jack. Plus, witness some of the supernatural deals the Salesman has made throughout the ages. (When you bargain with the devil, prepare to be burned, people!)
New Stories Beginning…
These issues represent new beginnings and places to start a new volume. They could very well make a good spot to jump onto a title.
Wild Storm Vol. 4
Jenny Mei Sparks is back, and she has a plan. The problem is that other people have ideas, too, and one of them is about reducing the population of Earth by 90 percent. Meanwhile, Skywatch intensifies its preparation for war and increases its attacks on the planet. For some of these conflict zones, Skywatch’s greatest threat is not IO or conventional forces, but the people who escaped from its experimentation camps. And the four people in London whom it knows little about, but who are preparing to take steps to alter the balance of the world! Plus, it’s the return of Midnighter and Apollo! Collects THE WILD STORM #19–24!
- Wild Storm #19
by Warren Ellis and Jon Davis-Hunt.
Published by DC Comics, 2019.
Beginning the fourth story arc of THE WILD STORM. Jenny Mei Sparks has been around for over a century. She’s seen a lot of things. Enough bad stuff that she took 20 years off to get drunk. And now she’s back, and she has a plan. The problem is that other people have plans, too, and one of them is about reducing the population of Earth by around 90 percent.
