Issue 3

With ‘archeologists’ bringing King Arthur back to life in the first couple of issues, Duncan and Gran need to recruit additional help to prevent the end of the world. Fortunately, the girl Duncan was dating in the first issue is an historian and she actually seems to believe in the supernatural and legendary beings she’s now encountering better than Duncan did.

Before they can get to her though, they’ve gotta slow down the King and Elaine and while swords and sorcery work pretty well, so do machine guns and IEDs. Unable to prevent our hero’s escape, Arthur decides to go in search of a blade fit for a king while Gran tries to convince Rose to join the team.

Galahad, could be the key to the whole adventure, though, as we see the King pull a sword outta a stone. It seems Galahad is gonna bring Arthur the Holy Grail which will allow him to ‘heal’ the land which is not really a good thing from what Gran indicates.

The story is quick paced and well drawn. The new characters added in this issue are clearly important to the plot and I’m enjoying how the whole thing is playing out. With all the searching for lost treasure and digging up the past shows on TV these days I can easily see this type of quest happening in the modern day.

I can’t wait to see how the next installment progresses.

Verdict

I rate this issue another Must Read as I find this series a lot of fun.
