Part III
The Jedi have followed a call for help to a planet that is embroiled in a war. The ‘Open’ and ‘Closed’ fight each other with airships and gatling guns meanwhile, a war is raging inside Anakin as he tries to reconcile the fact that the Jedi don’t try to right all the wrongs of the galaxy.
In addition to the conflicts on the planet and within the Padawan, we see Chancellor Palpatine luring Anakin to the dark side by encouraging his interference the casinos during a previous mission to the undercity of Coruscant. Obi-Wan may be Anakin’s teacher in the ways of the Force but it sure seems like Palpatine is a much stronger father figure. We all know who wins the contest of influence over the young Skywalker.
It’s a nice issue that continues the compelling story of Anakin’s fall from the Jedi Order and Obi-Wan’s inability to counter the mighty Darth Sideous.
The great part about this mini-series is that not only is the story well written, I’m loving the art. Some of the airship battles are really incredible and I think Marco Checchetto did a great job portraying the lower levels of Coruscant with their casinos, ruffians, and corrupt senators. I only wish the raging beasts on the plant’s surface were a bit better defined.
Verdict
