Strike Two
Ramble #26: Strike Two
Well, I have to say that today was a disappointment. Sure I got up early and ran 3 miles. I watched Return of the Jedi and a couple of fun college football games, but the big goal of the day eluded me.
I was unable to purchase tickets for the 2020 San Diego Comic-Con.
Yup, strike two.
I had a chance during the first, special round of sales because I had attended last year. I was shut out along with a bunch of my buddies.
This time around I had a larger group of friends and we were fairly hopeful since we’ve never had this many people get shut out and the thinking was that they were releasing more tickets to Open Registration than they had for Pre-Registration. Well, regardless of how many tickets were released or how many people were in my purchase group, no one was even admitted to a “Registration Session” to purchase tickets.
With two strikes for registration I’m hoping to find some alternative method of getting tickets – either winning them or getting lucky during the final “returned ticket” process. If I fail to get tickets I still plan on going downtown to the event but I really hope my 25 year streak continues for a 26th year. I’m just surprised so many people I know did not even have a chance…this is certainly the first time I’ve seen so many of my friends strike out twice.
