DC Universe New Weekly Releases October 29, 2019
DC Comics started to release new comics to their DC Universe platform about a year after they enter circulation as floppies. With that in mind, I decided to list off those released each week as I do for Marvel Unlimited. The DC releases come out on Monday just like the Marvel comics but since they are pushed to their site in the evening I figured I’d publish their list on Tuesday…
Here’s the new stuff I’ve found this week that was released October 24th, 2018:

Top Comics This Week
14 new comics released today compared to 10 last week. Looking at Comic Book Roundup which aggregates a bunch of review sites, here are the top issues from this batch of comics. No issue attained the criteria for my Top Issues this week (8.5 rating from 2 or more sites) so I had to drop down to 8.2 but each received more than 10 reviews so this is pretty decent…
- Batman Beyond #25
by Dan Jurgens and Cully Hamner.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
In this special oversize issue, legendary DC scribe Dan Jurgens is joined by superstar artist Cully Hamner (Batman and The Signal) to bring back the biggest baddie of them all in “The Final Joke.” The dedication of a new building commemorating a special Wayne family event-the 100th birthday of Thomas Wayne-brings out all of Neo-Gotham’s familiar faces, including one who was definitely not on the guest list. The Joker makes his long-awaited return to Neo-Gotham, and no one is safe! Will he strike at Batman, Robin, Commissioner Barbara Gordon or the original Caped Crusader himself, Bruce Wayne? Decades after his last fight with the Dark Knight, the Clown Prince of Crime returns home to take his city back once and for all. - Flash #57
by Joshua Williamson and Scott Kolins.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
The insidious secret that corrupted Heat Wave’s mind is free and looking for a new host-one who doesn’t run quite so hot! Unfortunately, it takes over Central City Detective Burns instead, and now she’s the one rampaging across the city wrecking shop! Burns must lean on an unlikely source to help her with these new powers, while Flash and Iris West make a big decision about their next move. - The Terrifics #9
by Jeff Lemire and Wiktor Bogdanovic.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
The Terrifics struggle to escape their respective plights while trying to save members of the Tom Strong family as chaos reigns across the Multiverse! But as Doc Dread’s true identity is revealed, that unmasking hits especially close to home for Sapphire Stagg, who’s in mortal danger after she learns the fateful secret. And she’s not the only Terrific in trouble-just wait until the team finds what threat awaits them back at their Gotham City headquarters!
Number Ones
DC actually had a Number One this week when when previous weeks have seen this section empty:
- Old Lady Harley #1
by Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
After liberating New York City from her now-feral Gang of Harleys, poor Harley wants nothing more than to slip back into retirement in her coastal (and heavily guarded) paradise. But the Laughing Boys Gang has another idea-they’ll follow her to the ends of the Earth, to drag her back to their leader! It can’t actually be…him! Right?! He couldn’t possibly still be alive, could he? After all…Harley killed him herself with her bare hands! Should she turn to President Power Girl for help? Or flee to the 51st state, Atlantis? Step into an insane vision of a future DC Universe we all better hope we don’t live to see!

The Witching Hour
- Wonder Woman #57
by James Tynion IV, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Ray McCarthy.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
“The Witching Hour” part four! As Hecate’s new world is born, Wonder Woman is under the goddess’ total control! This is magic’s darkest hour-one of the most powerful magicians of all time may not survive!
Drowned Earth
- Titans #28
by Dan Abnett and Clayton Henry.
Published by DC Comics, 2018.
Then, in a tie-in to the road to “Drowned Earth,” the Titans get a visit from an old teammate when Atlantean mage Tempest guest-stars in the ish. What’s got Garth’s fishnets in a twist? He’s there to help the new Titans lineup take on a major oceanic threat, whose attack comes straight out of the pages of Justice League and Aquaman. Guess you could say that prelude “spills over” into TITANS this month.
