Marvel Unlimited New Weekly Releases September 16, 2019
Marvel releases comics to the Unlimited platform about 6 months after they come out in floppy format so this week we are seeing comics from March 13, 2019. To try to read some more “modern” issues, I’ve been tracking what’s currently being released and trying to catch up from recent number ones…we’ll see how that goes.
Here’s the new stuff I’ve found this week that was released in March 2019:

Top Releases of the Week
23 new comics released today (last week had 18). Anyway, looking at Comic Book Roundup which aggregates a bunch of review sites, here are the top issues from this batch of comics. This week I load up on 6 issues and they all look like fun.
- Winter Soldier #4
by Kyle Higgins and Rod Reis.
Bucky is helping criminals turnaround from their illegal ways and his current project, RJ, has his progress complicated as his father shows up. - X-23 #10
by Mariko Tameki and Diego Olortegui.
Secrets are revealed and Laura and Gabby take on a bunch of genetically altered assassins. - The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #42
by Ryan North, Naomi Franquiz, Derek Charm, and Erica Henderson.
Squirrel Girl takes on Kang the Conqueror across time. - Runaways #19
by Rainbow Rowell and Andres Genolet.
A new arc and a new artist, both look interesting. - Avengers: No Road Home #5
by Al Ewing, Jim Zub, Mark Waid, and Sean Izaakse.
The action intensifies as things continue to look bleak for Earth’s Mightiest. - Amazing Spider-Man #17
by Nick Spencer and Humberto Ramos.
With the issue name of ‘Hunted part 1’, it is pretty obvious about the fact that Kraven is Spider-Man’s antagonist in this arc.
Number Ones
There are 4 NUMBER ONEs this week so there’s plenty of places to start a new series.
- Age of X-Man: Apocalypse & The X-Tracts #1
by Tim Seeley and Salva Espin.
X-Man’s utopia is missing love so Apocalypse teaches it to the mutants. - Magnificent Ms. Marvel #1
by Saladin Ahmed and Minkyu Jung.
The last few series featuring Ms. Marvel were so good how could I not be excited to see where her new adventures take her? - Star Wars: Age of the Republic: General Grievous #1
by Jody Houser and Luke Ross.
The final issue of the Age of the Republic sees the cyborg general hunting Jedi find a lost Jedi temple. - Uncanny X-Men: Winter’s End #1
by Sina Grace and Nathan Stockman.
The X-Men run into a future Bobby Drake and he’s got some interesting recommendations for the team.
Jumping on Points
While there are 4 NUMBER ONEs this week there are even more places to jump into a series and these titles are a bit more fleshed out than the #1s.
- Amazing Spider-Man #17
by Nick Spencer and Humberto Ramos.
The Hunted arc begins. - Runaways #19
by Rainbow Rowell and Andres Genolet.
The Runaways have some recovery time in store after the That Was Yesterday arc concluded in the last issue. - Shuri #6
by Vita Ayala and Paul Davidson.
A short 2-part story arc by a guest creative team Takes Shuri to Brooklyn.
Concluding Issues
Some story’s have been told and transform into something new.
- Star Wars: Han Solo – Imperial Cadet #5
by Robbie Thompson and Leonard Kirk.
Han’s time as a cadet comes to a close in this final issue.
