Wakfu: Starting Out…

Well, I did plan for things to be a bit more elaborate today but instead, on this 16th day of Blaugust I am simply gonna talk about starting out in Wakfu.

After a nice introduction to the World of Twelve and the current situation which is similar to the frescos I’ve spoken about previously, Dani Olivaw was born into Incarnum.

Otomai is one of the clan leaders mentioned in the frescos and is a close disciple of the gods. He feels my presence as I am born into the world and invites me to learn how to use the Wakfu powers Dani was granted.

He tells me how special Dani is…

And then challenges me to my first battle which I’m sure he could have easily won, but he wasn’t really trying.

But then he sets me up in my first real fight which starts with a placement phase. Since combat is turn based, which I think is kinda cool, positioning is pretty important so you can use your abilities to their fullest extent.

As you can see, Pummel has quite a large range for attacking

While Heart of Steam is more directional.

And Flambé, while directional, hit things beyond the target as well.

It’s all pretty cool but my time was limited so I only got to learn the basics. As it was, I beat my opponent and felt pretty confidant that I was getting the hang of the fighting.

Next time I take on more powerful critters.
