A Flood, More Powers, and a Bishop
On the 14th day of Blaugust I take a further look at the frescos in Wakfu, particularly one that looks at the flood caused by Ogrest. I also continue my web chronicle of The Rook but before that, I highlight a few issues on my weekly pull list.
The Second Wakfu Incarnum Fresco
The second fresco in Incarnum talks about the aftermath of Ogrest’s Flood.
Having lost the love of his life, Dathura, in the abyss, Ogrest cried so many tears the World of Twelve flooded and which caused some serious issues.
Once again this is a cool piece of art that has the story embedded in it…a pretty neat feature of the game.
Pull List Wednesday
As usual, my pull list post will be coming soon but before then, I just wanted to highlight a few issues that piqued my interest this week…
The White Trees #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Kris Anka. Published by Image Comics.
Acclaimed Daredevil writer CHIP ZDARSKY teams up with superstar Runaways artists KRIS ANKA and MATT WILSON for this spectacular OVERSIZED TWO-ISSUE MINISERIES! In the fantastical world of Blacksand, peace was hard-won, and three unbending warriors carry the scars to prove it. Now, almost twenty years later, their children are missing and war is on the horizon. Can they put aside their memories of the war—and each other—for one last adventure?
Once & Future #1 by Kieron Gillen and Dan Mora. Published by BOOM! Studios.
When a group of Nationalists use an ancient artifact to bring a villain from Arthurian myth back from the dead to gain power, ex-monster hunter Bridgette McGuire escapes her retirement home and pulls her unsuspecting grandson Duncan, a museum curator, into a world of magic and mysticism to defeat a legendary threat. Bestselling writer Kieron Gillen (The Wicked + The Divine, Star Wars) and Russ Manning Award-winning artist Dan Mora (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Klaus) explore the mysteries of the past, the complicated truths of our history and the power of family to save the day…especially if that family has secret bunkers of ancient weapons and decades of experience hunting the greatest monsters in Britain’s history!
Powers of X #2 by Jonathan Hickman and R. B. Silva. Published by Marvel Comics.
As Xavier sows the seeds of the past, the X-Men’s future blossoms into trouble for all mutantdom.
I think these three look pretty good and am looking forward to checking them out this week.
Bishop Conrad Grantchester
Now that all the meetings about the Grafters are over, Myfanwy has a chance to acquaint herself with another member of Checquy Court. As a Bishop, Grantchester is one of the two supervisors of the organization, one level below the Lord and Lady, and a pretty powerful person. Today we get to see what Thomas felt was noteworthy about him before she lost her memory.
It’s a Wrap
I’m a bit more ambitious today since I’ve got a few things already prepared…good thing I’ve been using Trello and my Mind Maps for planning.
