Change for Change’s Sake?
If nothing else, I figure inconsistency defines my blogging style. I’ve started up bunches of, what I think are, cool features and segments over the years only to see my interest in them fade. Things that start out promising die off and I move on to other things that seem more interesting in the moment.
I see plenty of blogs out there that pick some neat segments and stick to it for years and hundreds of posts but I always keep changing things up.
I suppose it’s kinda like my gaming style. I rarely have pushed a character to max level, much less actually completed a single player game. My video and screenshot folders are full of the starts and stops I’ve gone through over the years and sometimes it becomes difficult to track things.
With that in mind, I’m gonna try something new…again. Who knows if this will last or what but I just want to use this Morning Ramble to point out my plans for today’s rambles. Most of the time I’ve got 2 or 3 things I want to go on about but I don’t have them ready to go in the morning. That can get frustrating when I’ve been working on the segments for a few days only to have them ‘just about done’ and then have to scramble to get them into a morning post.
We’ll see how this goes as I take a look at the stuff I’m thinking about today…
The First Wakfu Incarnum Fresco
As I mentioned yesterday, there were some pretty cool frescos setup in the starting area and it turns out they are not just part of a quest in the tutorial but they also give some great lore about the World of the Twelve that the game of Wakfu takes place within.
Marvel Unlimited New Release Monday
As usual, Marvel released their new additions to their Marvel Unlimited service today and I take a look at the new releases from February 6th, 2019.
This week I’m looking forward to checking out a bunch of new Marvel issues but my interest is particularly piqued by the following 3 titles…
- Avengers #14 by Jason Aaron and David Marquez
Vampires, Transylvania, Dracula, and Blade…what more could you ask for in a Vampire Civil War? This looks like fun. - Daredevil #1 by Chip Zdarsky and Marco Checchetto
Wilson Fisk is the Mayor, the NYPD is clamping down on vigilantes, and Daredevil is recovering from getting the crap kicked out of him by a truck. Seems like a pretty good starting point to explore the Man Without Fear. - Immortal Hulk #13 by Al Ewing and Joe Bennett
This has been the most consistently good, if not GREAT, series in the Marvel lineup recently so I’ve gotta keep up with this one. I’m almost to the point where I decided to just start purchasing the issue as soon as it comes out rather than waiting 6 months for it to show up on Unlimited only a few more issues.
As usual, my new release post will be coming soon.
Brandon Sanderson’s The Emperor’s Soul
Last week I mentioned I was gonna jump back into the world of Elantris…well, I realized I didn’t have enough time to get through that great story AND The Emperor’s Soul before my book club so I’m jumping ahead into the latter to get it read before my meeting. I’ll let you know what I think as I get though the story.
It’s a Wrap
So it’s a little bit different. I tried to keep things a bit shorter in this ramble so I can focus on things more in the later posts but I don’t always make the best plans. In any case I’m looking forward to publishing about Wakfu and the new Marvel Unlimited releases later and we’ll see if there’s anything I want to ramble about for The Emperor’s Soul.
