Rick and Pull List
This was the most hectic day I’ve had during Blaugust so far. With my normal Wednesday Pull List I had to wait to see what was actually gonna be available on Comixology to add my weekly picks and with a late night of excitement as the Rickmobile was in town, I was dragging. I’m happy to say, though that I got my Blaugust post out and happily am keeping to my goal of a post a day.
Pull List
Wednesday is of course new comic book day so I’ve taken a look around the virtual comic book shop and picked a few issues I want to add to my growing (because I’m don’t have time to read them all) backlog of comics to read. For the current releases I’m really looking at this House of X/Powers of X series which is really good so far. The intertwined nature of it may be a bit gimiky but I kinda like the fact that they didn’t really go weekly with a single story but rather bi-weekly with 2 titles. With the first issues of each out, I’m ready to dive into House of X #2 this week and see where the journey takes us, so far the places have been interesting.
Meanwhile, back in the early 70s, the Avengers take on the Sentinels and Spidey faces off against Doc Ock once again in what I’m sure will be an interesting story since it’ll be the first time Parker has faced the Doc since Stan Lee handed over the writing duties to Gerry Conway.
Finally, along with the other titles I am planning on reading, I’m gonna go slow again with my Rebirth additions since I don’t want to pile too much on or get too far ahead of myself, so I’m only adding Nightwing #5 to take another step into the Night of the Monster Men story arc. Hopefully this will let me catch up.
Rickmobile
I’m not sure how I almost missed this but a coworker mentioned that the Rickmobile was gonna be at a local brewery yesterday. Since it is so close to Comic-Con I didn’t expect there to be more events going on but the Rickmobile was surely something I had to check out.
Of course the Rickmobile celebrates Rick and Morty and they certainly come bearing gifts. Well, not really gifts I suppose, but stuff for people to buy. Unfortunately all the Mr. Poopy Butthole pillows were sold out before I got a chance to pick one out. I did grab a Vindicators pin for myself and a Bird Person Action Figure for Mrs. Redshirt, but the fun was more all the activities going on around the Rickmobile.
They had people with bullhorns leading cheers, a Pickle Rick running around, and lots of people dressed up as their favorite characters.
With a line that wrapped around the corner and down the street, I’m sure the brewery did some good business but it was good to see how many people, even of the 21 and older crowd, love the show.
It’s a Wrap
I’m gonna leave things at that since I’m running behind today. It’s been a while so I’m not used to hanging out at a brewery on a work night, but it was a lot of fun.
