On the First Day of #Blaugust 2019…
It was a hot and steamy day that first of Blaugust as I stepped into the bar…oh wait, it’s not hot or steamy but overcast and muggy and a relatively pleasant 72 degrees here in San Diego on Blaugust 1st.
In any case, Blaugust 2019 kicks off today and I’m glad to see all the participants. Once again, Belghast, from Tales of the Aggronaut has done a great job organizing things and I’m looking forward to a month full of new blogs, new ideas, and old friends. To continue my meager contribution to the community, I’m gonna keep up my rambling about my workflow and today I am including Trello into the mix. I’m also taking the next step in my web chronicle of The Rook so I’m at chapter 11 and things are getting real interesting. Finally, in light of my monthly goal of gaming more, I take a quick dive into why I keep coming back to Secret World Legends.
Apex House
The meeting is finally here! As we get to the Apex House, the main headquarters of the Checquy, we’ll finally get to meet up with all the members of the Court. According to Thomas, someone at this meeting set up the attack that caused Myfanwy to lose her memories…I wonder if it will be clear at this stage of the story.
Adding Trello into my Workflow
Trello is a relatively new tool for me but it’s one that is seeing much more activity in my workflow. I’ve found it can be useful in tracking to-dos, can be used as a kanban board, and can even work as an editorial calendar.
I’ve got a post I’m working on that I’ll throw out later today that takes a quick look at how I’m adding Trello into my workflow.
Always Something Interesting
One thing I really like about The Secret World whether it’s TSW or Secret World Legends is the fact that the missions are always interesting.
I know, even when I haven’t been playing the game for a while, that when I jump in I’m gonna have something fun, different, and sometimes fairly complex to do. Sure, there are the kill 10 beasts quests or carry the mail over to Bob missions, but those are few and far between. Most of the time I’m trying to decipher runes or figuring out the correct placement of wards, or tracking a creature that keeps evading me. Come to think of it, I don’t remember the last time I actually had something hide from and evade me in a game that wasn’t SWL. While I do wish the combat system was just a bit better in the game, it’s still, after all these years one of the most innovative, interesting, and exciting MMOs to play. Each mission tells a story or at least a chapter of it while other games seem to have forgotten that people play games to immerse themselves in a world, not just to kill 10 rats.
That’s why I always find myself going back to SWL.
It’s a Wrap
I wish everyone luck in achieving their goals this Blaugust. Regardless of how many posts you put out or how much tweaking you do to your blog, channel, or stream, remember to have fun. Unless your doing this for a living, it should be a fun experience and I think for the most part, those of us chatting about gaming, sci-fi, movies, comics, books, television shows, and geek life are all just in it for the joy of putting our thoughts out there. Don’t stress if you miss a day or a week, just roll with the punches and do your best. Have fun and welcome to the blogging community.
