Rigged Racing
I usually don’t pay much attention to horse racing but I have to comment on the disastrous Kentucky Derby that in my view appears rigged.
Sure, I’ve been to a number of races and here in Del Mar we have one of the most beautiful tracks in the country. I just have to question how officials ruled on some kind of offense that was so blatant they didn’t see it initially.
Apparently they never indicated that there was such a flagrant foul where the horse that led the race from start to finish veered out of some illusory lane when he came around the turn. The race finished and usually if there’s a question the officials make it known that the result is in doubt – that didn’t happen until there were complaints.
So, as I said, I haven’t been to many races myself but I have never heard that there are supposedly lanes that a horse is supposed to stay in as they go around turns. It kinda sounds like they’d be asking a car racer to avoid protecting his lead or let someone behind merge in front when coming to the pits. It just sounds screwy.
So with the ridiculous result of pretty much the only horse race people pay attention to I start to wonder what the officials were really doing. I start to seriously wonder if they had some kind of trouble with their odds making computer. Did they have to rectify a glitch? The fact that the odds on winner that had NEVER lost a race and somehow led from start to finish, finished the race first, and paid off a lot of people who bet on him gets disqualified is astounding. How many people who won their bets were turned into losers? How much money did the oddsmakers take back when the officials changed the results of the race?
Needless to say I question the results, I now question the Derby, and I question the sport that relies so much on gambling.
Such a pathetic rigged system.
