2019MMM Final Roar Results

The Final Roar is here and we’ve got 2 incredible battles to determine who will face off against each other in the championship.

Bengal Tiger vs Moose Thread

This battle is brutal as two of the top seeds face off against each other.  The mighty Moose takes on the ferocious Bengal Tiger in a fight for the ages.  

The battle takes place in a Mangrove in Australia called the K’gari and it is widely known for being the largest sand island in the world.  This ecosystem has significant potential to play in the battle as neither competitor will feel at home in this land.  The Moose is used to much cooler weather and the fact that the battle is in the Spring means his antlers have been shed.  That’s pretty unfortunate for the Moose but the battle takes place when and where the tournament masters decide.

While the Moose prefers cooler temperatures, the Bengal Tiger is more accustomed to tropical forest environments and his camouflage doesn’t work too well with all this sand around.

As the Tiger spots the Moose, she charges in and gets kicked by the mighty Moose.  But the stunned Tiger shakes off the defense and comes at the large Moose again.  This time as they meet, the environment plays a role and the sand begins turning into quicksand as the tide sweeps in.  The fight continues as the Moose sinks and the Tiger slashes.  The Moose drags the Tiger down into the sand with him but that just enrages the Tiger as she bites through the Moose’s spinal chord…ouch!  As the Moose continues to sink under the sand the Tiger climbs to the surface and escapes battered and hungry, but vitorious as she prepares for the championship battle.

Banded Mongoose & Warthog vs. Sea Lion battle

This battle takes place in the Thorn Forest of Southwest India which might not be the best environment for the Sea Lion.  Fortunately, the Warthog has taken significant injury from the previous battles so the Aquatic mammal might have a chance.

But as the fight starts out, the Sea Lion takes a surprising strategy.  Instead of waiting for the fight to come to him, the Sea Lion charges.  This might not have been the wisest move as the abundant thorns in the forest scrape and tear at his soft skin – not having legs really sucks!  

As he approaches the Warthog the Sea Lion gets even more excited to attack and keeps pressing forward while the Mongoose and Warthog just watch the spectacle.  Exhausted when he finally arrives at the feet of the Warthog, the Sea Lion passes out due to blood loss and he succumbs to his competitors and the Warthog and Mongoose claim victory.

The Final Roar sure featured a couple of good battles and they also seem to highlight what has become a theme of the 2019 March Mammal Madness tournament – the environment can really make a difference in the contests.
