My Pull List for Week 52 of 2018
This week has only a few new releases but with my pulls from Marvel Unlimited I’ve got plenty. I’m also going back a few weeks to see if I can catch up on some highly rated titles that I missed out on when they started up.
From Marvel Unlimited New Releases:
While comics that came out this week were a bit sparse Marvel Unlimited released issues that were published back in June so there are plenty of those.
- Spidey: School’s Out #1 by John Barber, Todd Nauck, and Rachelle Rosenberg. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. This issue starts out the title that actually continues into issue #2 (on Marvel Unlimited) this week. If I get the time, I’ll see about reading #2 as well as #1.
- The Amazing Spider-Man #801 by Dan Slott, Marcos Martin, and Muntsa Vicente. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. The last issue by Dan Slott looks pretty good.
- Infinity Countdown: Champions #1 by Jim Zub, Emilio Laiso, and Andy Troy. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. I’ve really enjoyed The Champions issues I’ve read so I can’t expect that things will be different just because they’re involved with the Infinity Countdown…we’ll see.
- Weapon H #1 by Greg Pak, Cory Smith, Marcus To, and Morry Hollowell. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. This title has 11 issues with 4 of them on Marvel Unlimited and from what I can tell, this mix of Hulk and Wolverine is pretty cool.
- Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man Annual #1 by Chip Zdarsky, Michael Allred, Laura Allred, Mike Drucker, and Chris Bachalo. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. J. Jonah Jameson knows Peter’s secret and now Spidey has to protect the man who’s hated him all these years.
- Doctor Strange #2 by Mark Waid and Jesús Saiz. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. The first issue of this title was pretty cool as Stephan headed out into space to try to find how to get his magic back.
From Comixology:
There aren’t too many issues that were released Wednesday but there were a few that looked pretty good. Actually, for each one of these I’m going back a few weeks to earlier issues that I haven’t read so far. I’ve also pulled Fantastic Four into this list since I want to read what’s happening with Marvel’s first family before it shows up on Marvel Unlimited.
- Fantastic Four #1 by Dan Slott, Sara Pichelli, Simone Bianchi, and Skottie Young. Published by Marvel Comics, 2018. This title just came out with it’s 5th issue and while I’m pulling the first one, it is unconventional for me since I usually wait for the Marvel Unlimited release. This one I felt the desire to catch up earlier than usual.
- Man-Eaters #2 by Chelsea Cain and Kate Niemczyk. published by Image Comics, 2018. I read the first issue of this recently and enjoyed it so I wanted to keep up…unfortunately I’m already behind as this is only the second issue when #4 came out this week. Maybe I’ll be able to catch up.
- Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1956 #1 by Mike Mignola, Chris Roberson, Yishan Li, Mike Norton, Michael Avon Oeming, and Dave Stewart. Published by Dark Horse, 2018. I’ve always wanted to read some Hellboy since I enjoyed the movies and since this is a slow week, I figured why not start now. I went back an issue to #1 to see how this new story starts out.
From Marvel Unlimited 1963:
I finally finished up the issues that I’ve been carrying along for the past few weeks. Now I can try to make a dent in the remaining 1963 comics. Im pretty sure I won’t get through them all before the My Marvelous Year kicks off but I’ll be good with that. I’m looking forward to the trip through Marvel’s history but I know it’ll be a lot of work to keep up…I’m gonna try though.
- Strange Tales #113 by Stan Lee, Joe Carter, and Dick Ayers. published by Marvel Comics, 1963.
- Fantaststic Four #19 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Dick Ayers, and Stan Goldberg. Published by Marvel Comics, 1963.
- Journey into Mystery #97 by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby and George Roussos. Published by Marvel Comics, 1963.
- Tales of Suspense #46 by Stan Lee, Robert Bernstein, Jack Kirby, and Don Heck. Published by Marvel Comics, 1963.
- Tales to Astonish #48 by Stan Lee, H. E. Huntley, and Don Heck. Published by Marvel Comics, 1963.
So on the whole I’ve got quite a few titles I’m interested in this week and hopefully with the holidays and time off I’ll get a chance to catch up on some reading.
