Goblins and Trolls
Daily Ramble 39: Goblins and Trolls
Attacking a bunch of new bloggers because they aren’t posting every day is like calling Joey Chestnut a loser because he doesn’t eat 70 hotdogs at every meal. That’s what the Greedy Goblin seems to be doing in his latest post though. Actually though, that’s not the only attack a goblin makes today as I read through the next issue of Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man where the Green Goblin does some equally horrible things.
Greedy Troll
As usual, Gevlon is up to his usual antics but this time instead of targeting the Goons, who I could conceivably believe are deserving of trolling, or Pay-to-Win games, that definitely deserve trolling, he is targeting new bloggers. This is pretty low even for Gevlon. Has he grown so tired of watching his attacks bounce off the Teflon skin of the Imperium that he has to assault newbies who are just trying to grow their creativity muscles during a blogging event?
I’ve found some of his posts amusing in the past and even been entertained by some of his sparing with the Goons but I have to say I am sad to see that he’s turned his bullseye on the vulnerable new bloggers in the blogosphere. I suppose since one of the blogger’s he reported on has some affiliation with the Goons the Goblin is trying to prevent any new bloggers from blossoming into full fledged anti-Goblin posters, but to be threatened by a few new blogs that appeared for the Blaugust Reborn event demonstrates his desperation for attention.
I’m sure Gevlon will soon go back to his gadfly games with the Goons and PtW games but when he focuses his effort on attacking newbies he demonstrates that he’s afraid of competition. Attack the people who want to learn, who are just getting started, and who are still in their growing phase. Get them early so they can’t develop into content developers that aren’t solely reliant on attacking others.
Grow up Gevlon, stop attacking newbies, and you might someday evolve out of your M&S stage.
More Goblin Than Troll
In other Goblin news, I read through *Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #302* and it was a pretty good continuation of the Amazing Fantasy story line. Parker has teamed up with himself as Spidey, J. Jonah Jameson, and Spidey’s sister, Teresa, took a trip back in time to try to stop the Tinkerer. While the younger Peter seems to be taking things in stride, he has had no problem accepting the elder Parker’s assistance in taking down Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, and even Mysterio. Things get complicated though when the Goblin breaks free of the cops, takes Aunt May hostage, and kicks the crap outta the younger Spider-Man. While the Tinkerer has yet to show up in the storyline, the time travelers have plenty to work out in the next issues as they’ve gotta save young Spidey and Aunt May.
