Teams on Saturday used high powered late innings to make drama in the games. Houston rode a 5 run 8th to overcome the Angels for the first time on this home stand. While Seattle held off a 4 run rally from Oakland to pull off the win.
Steven Matz of the Giants picked up 11 strike outs over 7 innings but the 11th inning, a sacrifice fly by the Mets lost the game for the West. The Twins tried to come back on the Rangers in the 8th but the Texas bullpen held them off.
In San Diego though, all the runs came in the first 6 innings as Hunter Renfroe stopped hitting homers after the 4 and Colorado kept going. While in LA, the Dodgers waited until the 8th for a 3-run home run by Matt Kemp to get one step closer to 1st place.
On the whole, it was a pretty full day of baseball with lots of excitement.
