Daily Ramble 25: The Last Man Hunts Rats

I had some fun today running around in Secret World Legends and reading some cool comics. I also started out Foundation’s Edge by Isaac Asimov and I’m really enjoying where it seems to be going.

Monster Hunting in Secret World Legends

The latest trip I took into SWL was more of a hunting expedition rather than an intracite puzzle mission or a scary mystery. The folks at the Wabanaki trailer park have been taking visitors on safari hunts since the local creatures have become more plentiful. Sasquatch, draug, wendigo, and ak’ab are on the tour and my job is to capture a few for research purposes. It wasn’t difficult but I did get to experience a bunch of different species and then test out some drugs on them.

Queens and the Last Man

Along with getting a bit of time to hang out in Secret World Legends a bit this morning I also had time to catch up on a couple of comics I’ve been meaning to read. Rat Queens #1 and the next issue of Y the Last Man. Rat Queens looks pretty cool. It’s about a group of what seem to be D&D characters that happened to all be female. The girls get into bar fights and sent of quests and in this issue they’re attacked by some kind of ninja assassin. The women use swords, knives, and magic to hold him off and I’m hooked by the good characters and premise. This looks like it could be as good as I’ve heard.

I also got to the 3rd issue of Y the Last Man and we’re finally getting people together. Yorick made it to DC and found his mom at the White House. The women are ‘trying’ to put the government back together but there’s a lot on infighting among representatives and the wives of dead representatives. They’re also putting together a plan to seek out a geneticist who might be able to figure out why Yorick is still alive and what happened to the other males. It’s a really good read so far.
