Heading into The Witcher 3 On Day 11 of #BlaugustReborn
Daily Ramble 14: What’s Up With My Mouse?
Ok…I will say I tried to get into The Witcher 3 today and I did fire it up but I ran into issues.
Mouse Lag in Menus
Well, the install went fine but when I fired up the game I could barely deal with the menus. For some reason my trusty trackball wasn’t behaving properly and it seemed like whenever I moved it, it took the cursor a few milliseconds to react and then when I stopped moving it kept going for a bit. Totally frustrating!
Enter Google and I find that there’s a little, hidden at the bottom of the menu toggle to set the cursor to Hardware Control…things now work at least in the menus.
Mouse Lag in Tutorial
So now that I can control things, I jump into the game and watch the great cutscenes. Lotsa setup and worldbuilding that I enjoy and will probably talk about another time but for now I’m focusing on trying to get into the tutorial. And I do…the on,y problem is the lag I experienced in the menus is kinda back. This is totally weird. I’ve never had any issues with lag in any game other than Eve Online and that was only because there were 1000s of ships in the system fighting with me.
In any case, I got into the tutorial and had numerous issues. Whichever direction I moved it seemed I kept going. Using my sword was a pain because I couldn’t control my direction and movement effectively. ARGH!
I’m gonna have to head back to Google to figure things out but I was too frustrated to get on with that this morning.
I’m not sure what the issue is. It could be my 4K screen, it could be that I had a few other things open on the background, I don’t know but it really sucked all the energy I had to play the game. Oh well.
I suppose I could play on my PS4 but I’ll give some research and we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
Dying to Avoid Anxiety on #BlaugustReborn Day 6
Hi
I owned and NOT played W3 for over a year since I found playing it with mouse/kb awkward
(Naga mouse and stealthZ keyboard, but still)
Finally I got myself a controller since my friends insisted giving this game a try
According to Steam I have now logged 373 hours into the game ..
Maybe I’ll have to give the controller a try. Which do you use? I was thinking of PS4 controller but I actually got past the first fight with mouse/keyboard so I was pretty happy.
