Ohtani’s Big Day
Friday was the biggest day in Shohei Ohtani’s short MLB career as he went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 3 RBIs. It was such a good performance it broke the Angels’ losing streak.
Hopeful for a Win Streak
With the skid over I’m hoping the Angels get on another win streak so they can climb back above .500. A major impediment to turning things around though is the fact that Mike Trout is day to day with a wrist injury. Fortunately on Friday, Ohtani stepped up and carried the offense.
Eric Young Jr. who was playing center field for Trout also played pretty well, going 2 for 3 with a couple of RBIs. With the offense being carried by these two, Jaime Barria just needed to keep the team in the game and he did a pretty good job of it. He scattered 6 hits and held Cleveland to 3 runs over 5 innings…too bad he didn’t last long enough to get the win.
But the Angles won and that’s what matters and beating the AL Central leading Indians is not too bad after getting swept by Tampa Bay. I just hope they can turn this into a win streak.
Oh yeah, and needless to say…Ohtani gets my Player of the Game for today.
