Review of All-New Wolverine #4
In All-New Wolverine, Laura takes her cloned sisters to the Sanctum Sanctorum of Doctor Strange to see if he can help them overcome the genetic changes Alchemax inflicted upon them but instead of helping them they end up in the hospital with Zelda seriously injured.

My Reading:
In the last issue, Laura and the sisters escape from Taskmaster and head to the safest place Wolverine can think of in New York – Doctor Strange’s house. While there, Stephen uses the Eye of Agamotto and judges that they may have done a bit too many bad things to be good candidates for his help. Laura tells the doctor to view her through the Eye and he sees that she too has ha her share of morally questionable experiences but is impressed by how she is able to control her rage better than Logan.
Before he can help the sisters though, Bellona shoots a cupboard that was staring at her. It turns out the cupboard is a portal and her shots have released some kind of dimensional horror. Laura and the sisters defeat the monster as Doctor Strange closes the portal, but in the whole process, Zelda ends up injured…badly.
Strange teleports them to New York Hospital where he examines Bellona and he realizes there’s nothing he can do…the nanites in her brain are too small for him to operate on with either medicine or magic. He declares that she’s only got days to live if that long but he’s got an idea…he teleports them to Pym Laboratories where they might be able to use Ant-Man’s suit to fix the problem but we won’t know how that goes until the next issue.
What did I learn:
- Laura’s control of her rage is greater than Logan’s was.
- You gotta be really careful when hanging out in the Sanctum Sanctorum.
My Thoughts:
There wasn’t much in the way of fighting in this issue but I did like the look of the monster that came outta the cupboard. He definitely had some Cthulhu stylings and I thought it was great to be popping outta a portal that Doctor Strange was storing in his home.
It was als interesting to see Stephen use the Eye of Agamotto to judge the character of the girls. While the sisters have done some bad things, Wolverine has done quite a bit questionable too.
On the whole I enjoyed this issue and think it did a good job of moving the story forward. It also works to help place Laura as Wolverine in the middle of the Marvel universe.
My Rating: B
