May 2018 Gaming Goals
I’m not sure why I wait till near the end of the month to publish these goal posts but here are my May 2018 gaming goals. Next month, I am gonna make a concerted effort to get this thing out during the first week of the month so I have laid out what I’m gonna target for the month. As you can see from the date of my April plan, 4/27/2018, I didn’t get things out early in the month then either. Basically, if I don’t finish the draft of my planning before the end of the first week, I’m really trying to figure out what I wanted to do for the month in retrospect rather than looking to the future. In any case, posting this in the 4th (or even final) week of the month is not really saying much for my planning. With that prelude, here are my “plans” for the month of May…
MMO Book Club Heads to Middle Earth
I’m happy that the MMO Book Club is gonna be playing LOTRO this month. It’s been a while since I got into this game but even then, I never got very far. This time around I think I’m gonna try out a Human Warden to see how they work. I figure since I was able to get my Oathbound Paladin to max level in Neverwinter Online and did not have a problem with her melee nature, I might be able to do the same thing here. I may prefer to play healers but I also tend to stop playing most games around level 20 or so – just when healers start to get serious about healing rather than dps. Maybe that’s been my problem all along – I play healers and run into a slowdown when I’m expected to heal groups and there are no groups for me to join up with. In any case I think the Warden looks like a good class and one that’s supposed to have quite a bit of survivability.
My goal for the month is to attain level 31 – one level for each day of the month.
League of Legends and SMITE
In April I had planned on getting to Silver 4 in League of Legends and I reached that goal only to fall back to Silver 5. For May, I’d like to hit Silver 4 and end the month there. With patches coming out that change the meta practically every other week this has really become a pain in the butt and I would actually prefer to reduce my time in this game. Perhaps if I don’t meet this goal for May I may decide to step away from this MOBA in June.
In SMITE, I’m having fun learning new gods. I expanded to include Poseidon in my stable in April and I’d like to add Discordia in May. Beyond that I’d like to figure out a warrior to add so I can try out solo lane a bit more. Other than that I really don’t have any plans for attaining a particular rank since I’m still kinda new to the whole ranked play thing in SMITE.
Rift Prime
I really bogged down in this game in April and want to get moving in May. Both my Guardian and Defiant are sitting around level 7 heading into the month and I’d like to get them both up to at least 15. I realize that pushing to 20 would probably be asking for too much but I figure 8 levels apiece in 31 days should be good. And after all, there is a 3 day weekend in there too.
Neverwinter Online
Now that I’ve reached max level…hmm…I am starting to realize that I don’t think I ever posted anything about reaching max level in Neverwinter Online. That’s another reason why I need to do my goal post at the beginning of the month. I also should have posted a look back at what games I played in April but that didn’t happen either. I’ve just really dropped the ball here.
In any case I reached max level in Neverwinter and will post about that soon, but I’d like to run through one of the higher level campaigns this month if I get the chance. I’ve enjoyed my Paladin and think she should be able to get through most of the solo content considering she’s level 70 now but she also is a pretty decent tank and healer. I think the Sharandar campaign is the one I was focusing on trying out first which is supposed to take me to the homeland of a bunch of Elves. We’ll see how this goes.
