Daily Ramble 211: The Angels Need to show Defiance

This has been a crazy week at work and I had little time the past couple of days to much of anything because I’ve been so focused. Beyond that, it’s been a frustrating week watching my Angels. I truly expected them to play better this week but they had some difficult opponents who were on fire…bad umpiring didn’t help either. As for gaming, I got some time to dabble in Eve and Neverwinter Online and I had an opportunity to dance a bit in League of Legends and SMITE. Today though, I look both backwards and forwards to Defiance which is coming up on a rebirth.

Can We Play Somewhere Else?

The team is not playing very well right now. After having a dominant run for the first 16 games of the season, the Angels came home to what was supposed to be great fanfare and play some fun games in front of the adoring. Instead, they haven’t won a game during this home stand. 4 losses in a row is just heartbreaking. After scoring tons of runs in the for 16 the team has barely seen home plate since they got home. And Friday was no different.

The only run they scored was on a Mike Trout home run so he’s gotta take my Player of the Game. He went 2 for 3 on the night but the team as a whole only put up 5 hits. And surprisingly, they flopped 2 errors on the night.

Hopefully this weekend will see a turn around. The team still sports one of the best records in the league but they’re limping. They really need something to kickstart the offense and their starting pitching needs to give the bullpen a break. Hopefully they’ll play more like the first 16 rather than the last 4.

Defiance Rebirth

Back when I started writing this blog, I enjoyed spending time playing a game called Defiance. It was a pretty cool setup since there were PC and console versions of the game AND there was a TV show on the SyFy channel. While I enjoyed playing and watching the show, a usual, I didn’t get very far into the game. I think my highest character was in their 20s.

Apparently there’s been a rebirth of the game and similar to The Secret World, the devs are basically rereleasing it. This weekend is a beta and I’m hopIn to geta an invite, but even if I’m not in the Beta, I’m looking forwa4d to getting another shot at the game world.
