2 Wins, a Swimmer, and 100 Days

Daily Ramble 200:2 Wins, a Swimmer, and 100 Days

I was able to spend a bit of time in both MOBAs I am currently interested in…SMITE and League of Legends. And I’m happy to say that I won both games I played this morning. Hopefully that will continue but more than that, I hope to keep learning the games so I can get better. Speaking of better, hopefully the Angel pitching will improve (other than Ohtani) so that the games are not as reliant on the relief corps. The Angels won again but started Garrett Richards didn’t pitch as well as we all know he can. Finally, we’ve hit the 100 day mark before San Diego Comic-Con. I’m certainly excited.

2 Win Morning

This morning I managed ton squeak out 2 wins…one in League of Legends and one in SMITE. I felt pretty good about the victories but they were both hard won.

In League, I played as Morgana in the Mid lane and I had a tough time against a very good Talon. He hardly came to mid lane except to sneak up on me and try to assassinate me but his manuverability helped him run up a number off kills including me for the first 15 minutes of the game. He then started to slow down as my team started buying defensive items and building up cs and turret kills.

While Talon was roaming I knocked down the mid turret and the same happened with the Veigar we had in the top lane. We then turned to help out our bot lane. Things were not easy but our Master Yi was able to rack up over 20 kills as we dragged the game out letting the enemy make mistakes. Eventually we Ace’d them a couple times and managed to break into their nexus and pull off a difficult win.

In SMITE, I played as Sol in the Mid lane and I’m starting to feel better about this god. I think the idea is that she should be played with mobility and roaming so I kept trying to grab the speed buff. It helped get me from lane to lane to help each of them out and then get back to mid in order to kill the next wave before Kukulkan could advance too far. While we lost first turret we were still ahead in gold because we were in lane much more time than they were.

I was roaming all over and built up a 4 level lead over everyone else in the game and that then enabled me to take down all 3 of the first tier turrets. I ended up with 4 times the structure damage as the next closest enemy or friend. I felt pretty good about the game and I feel that I’m learning the god as I continue to build up the courage to play ranked.

Swimming Catcher

Call it a swim move or fancy dancing, but Martin Maldonado dodged a tag from the Texas catcher to help the Angels advance to their best start since 1987. At 8–3, the Angels are playing very well this season and are getting contributions from all over the lineup.

Maldonado went 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs to get my Player of the Game, but Pujols also played well, going 2 for 5 with a HR. He’s made it to 2981 hits on his career and at this rate will make 3000 by the end of the month.

The game was again fun to watch even though Garrett Richards only pitched 4 1/3 innings. Hopefully the pitching will settle down and start playing as well as the offense is right now. If that happens they certainly will be headed towards a playoff run.

100 Days to Comic-Con

It’s 100 days until the 2018 San Diego Comic-Con starts and I’m beginning to get excited. I think this’ll be a fun convention as usual and since I’ve been reading more comics, I think I’ll get more enjoyment out of the event.

While they haven’t let out any of the panel schedules yet, I think I might have a lot of sessions I’ll be interested in since I’ve expanded my knowledge of the pop culture covered by the con.

In any case, I’ll be paying attention to any news released and will make sure to keep this blog updated with anything of interest.
