Daily Ramble 197: Finishing the Business Career Path and Another Win

I’m making some progress with my new Eve character and actually finished off the business career path starting agent. While I’ve done all these type of tasks in the past it was good to refamiliarize myself with them particularly since some of the mechanics have changed.

I also give out my Player of the Game for Friday’s 13–9 Angel win.

Another Comeback Win!

For a while in this game on Friday I was worried I’d be giving my Player of the Game award to Ohtani again as he knocked out his 3rd home run in games. He really is showing that he can hit the ball – much better than he did during Spring Training, but then the Spring is time to get ready to show what you can do in the real season. In any case, Shohei put up some good numbers again with a 1 for 4 night knocking a home run and 2 RBIs.

The guy who took my Player of the Game award though has to be Justin Upton who turned the game around in the 7th. The Athletics got out to an early lead beating up on Parker Birdwell who only managed to get 5 outs before he left in the 2nd inning. They were up 6–0 before the Angels started coming back. A run in the 2nd, 4 runs in the 4th, and another couple in the 5th set up the big 5 run 7th inning…the Angels were back!

Upton put together 3 hits in 5 at bats with a home run and a double. He scored twice and drive in 3 and really pushed the Angels to win the game. He’s only battling .281 on the season so far but he really made the difference in yesterday’s game.

Business Career Path

In Eve, I finished off the business career starter agent. Antogase Pandon guided me well though 10 ‘business’ missions. I’m not so sure they all should be considered business based since they included hunting down pirates, salvaging and data mining. The last mission which required me to produce a bunch of ammo was clearly ‘business’ or rather industry, but it’s the kind of business I was looking for in this career. In my previous incarnation in Eve, I really enjoyed crafting things. It always made me feel good that any ship I lost in combat, I could rebuild.

One thing I will say about doing the career path, it would help a newbie Eve player. Even though everything wasnt about business, it did give a decent idea of some of th ways to make money in the game with out focusing on combat. Next up though, I’m gonna run thorough the combat mission career path to see how that works out. First though, I’ve gotta spend some time setting up my overview so I can see what I’m shooting at.
