#2018MMM Headed to the Sweet Sixteen, Part 1
Daily Ramble 184: Round Two battles of the Urban Jungle and Great Adaptations
The field has been narrowed to 32 and today starts the march towards the Sweet Sixteen. The number one seeds (Pygmy Hippo and Harar Hyena) are still in the fight and the 2 and 3 seeds advanced this far as well so it’ll be interesting to see who’ll be the first to fall. I’d think the Crabeater Seal would have the most difficult time but he does have home field advantage for this round still and the Jaguarundi isn’t known to like fighting on ice. But looking at my bracket, I lost out on the Platypus, the Coatimundi, the Raccoon, the Moscow Dog, and the Striped Skunk (total robbery) in the first round…that leaves me with some pretty big holes in my tournament. For the most part though my losses were projected to fall outta the contest this round except…the Skunk and the Moscow Dog. I really thought they would both advance at least to the Sweet Sixteen.
In any case, here are the results of the competitions…
- Fighting on her home turf, the Berlin Boar defends her piglets and throws the Bobcat outta the field of battle.
- With the pack ice of home field advantage, the Crabeater Seal crushes the smaller Jaguarundi between it’s blubber and the ice.
- Even with home field advantage, the Cape Town Chacma Baboon can’t overcome the Porcupine and suffers a face full of quills…ouch!
- The swift Cheetah jumps on and crunches the head of the Aye Aye handily winning the contest.
- The wiley Coyote dines on the tasty Sewer Rat.
- Harar Hyena shakes the Bristol Fox in deadly ways, laughing the whole time.
- Even with his vampire fangs, the Water Deer is no match for the whirlwind of the Tasmanian Devil.
- The immensely larger Pygmy Hippo scares off the Maned Rat and takes the contest.
