Daily Ramble 151: First 6 Degrees of 2018

This is an installment of my Six Degrees 2018 series in which I take a look at the wonderful blogs that surround Beyond Tannhauser Gate. The blogosphere is large but there are so many friends to be found within Six Degrees.

I’m hoping this starts a trend for me but I’m not gonna promise anyone anything.

Six Degrees of 2018

Actually, this is my first Six Degree post of 2018 and I really want to just roll with things. Last year about this time of year, I started up a Six Degrees of 2017. It petered out soon after I started and without many sites visited. Of course I’m gonna say I want to do more this year but who knows. I’ve been inconsistent often with grand plans on this site so I’m not gonna promise anything, I’m just gonna go with the flow.

I also wanted to reset my blogroll and for that I needed to get moving on my 6 Degrees or I wouldn’t have any updated links. This post will hopefully help me get started with that blogroll.

I’m going into this round of 6 Degrees without much of a plan. In the past I focused on 6 different posts or 6 different sites or some other pattern, but this time around I’m just gonna wing it. If I end up with a rule set for how I select the sites I look at…well, so be it. I’m just gonna let that develop organically rather than lay things out up front. The only idea I have for this round is to look at 6 different sites starting at one and follow links until I’ve reached a site that’s 6 steps removed from my blog. I’m not gonna be a stickler though – the sites I end up on may actually be closer than the degree I find them on as I traverse the links but the bottom line is that they’re in my sphere of 6 degrees.
