Fireworks and Puzzle Pieces

Daily Ramble 106: Fireworks and Puzzle Pieces

Fireworks featured heavily in my adventures in Secret World Legends today and I think they also might show up next season for the Angels. With the acquisition of 4 time All-Star 2nd baseman Ian Kinsler, my favorite MLB team looks like they might have put together the pieces they’ve been missing the past few years. If they can stay healthy, I think they might go pretty far next year, maybe even to the World Series. I can only hope.

Fireworks

This morning, I only had an opportunity to crank out one of the Secret World Legends missions before real life called. I’m still getting closer to finishing off all the side missions and moving to the Savage Coast from Kingsmouth, but it seems the town wants to keep me here just a bit longer.

In any case, I headed out from my home base at the Sheriff’s station to the harbor where the 3rd to last side mission was. The name of the mission was “A Light in the Sky” and it brought back the Morninglight who I’ve encountered before. This time though, I didn’t have to interact with them, but rather I had to complete a mission that they started.

Apparently the people the cult sent to light off the flares weren’t too careful and they ended up dead on the beach. I grabbed the fireworks and set out to finishing the task. And it wasn’t too difficult at level 21 – most of the zombies and Draug that were around the harbor just left me alone. They knew I’d smack them down pretty quick.

The mission still had an enjoyment for me though as I had to light up the flares and try to spot the rocket as it fired off into the sky. I wasn’t sure what the fireworks were supposed to be doing but it seems the Morninglight were trying to get their lackeys killed whether they finished the mission or not since when I fired off the last of the flares, I was assaulted by this big guy…

At my level, he wasn’t life threatening, but if I had ran this mission at lower level, I’m sure it would have been an interesting fight.

In any case, I’m gonna hopefully finish Kingsmouth off tomorrow.

Another Piece

My Angels team put together another piece of their 2018 puzzle at the MLB winter meetings by signing Ian Kinsler as their 2B.

With that move, the front office has pretty much plugged the glaring holes on the team that were apparent last year. They’ve turned left field into an advantage by singing Justin Upton, they picked up not only a pitcher who can throw 100+ mph in Shohei Ohtani but someone who can play in the field and hit, and they now added a solid defensive and All-Star second baseman. I think these are all quality pickups and that this team will be one to watch next season.

My main hope at this point is that they stay healthy since that seems to have been their biggest problem the past couple of years.
